Homeopathy
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a gentle, effective system of medicine, which has been in use for over 200 years. It works by stimulating the body’s own capacity for healing to help people on the path to achieving optimum health.
What conditions can it help alleviate?
This is possibly the most commonly asked question about homeopathy.
The answer is that people turn to homeopathy seeking help for a wide range of ailments from earache to arthritis. However, homeopathy treats the person rather than the disease name, as each individual is unique in the way they are affected by an ailment. Homeopathy has been found to be helpful in the treatment of:-
Ear infections, infantile colic, asthma, hay fever, recurrent infections, hormonal problems, skin complaints, digestive disorders; emotional states such as grief, depression or anxiety, and many other conditions.

What happens during a consultation?
This is where you get the chance to tell your own story. Tell me how your ailment affects you, when it started, what conditions make it feel better or worse, what makes you happy, what makes you sad, your past medical history, and any other ailments currently affecting you. All the information you give is relevant in finding the most appropriate remedy to be prescribed for you as an individual.
You can rest assured that everything you say will be treated with respect and in confidence.
A first consultation for an adult usually lasts about 1½ hours. Follow-up sessions, lasting around 30 minutes, are recommended at 4-6 weekly intervals. The frequency of these will vary from person to person depending on the progress being made.
What will the treatment consist of?
Homeopathic remedies are usually given in the form of a small tablet or pill. It is normal for you to be given only one pill. The remedy should be allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth, and you should not eat or drink anything for 15 minutes before and after taking the remedy. In some cases a liquid will be prescribed to be taken on a daily basis. More information on how to take liquid remedies will be given at the time of prescribing.
